Nahum is grand-son of one of Habitat for Humanity's beneficiary in Nicaragua. He helped painting his granny's house, in a compound where she lives with her 104 year-old husband (she is 76), her daughter, a son and a few grandchildren. They all went nut about Pinco.
This was the ending of our volunteering day - a sort of Xmas do, team building with colleagues and friends. We did the floor of a 20 m2 house and then painted 4 houses.
Habitat works for a healthier and safer housing in rural Nicaragua.
The volunteering is not big thing - the beneficiaries themselves can do the work, with a little help from professionals. I guess it is mostly a way to get on board possible supporters. And for us, a dramatic get together with local communities.
