New (Life)

I went out in the garden this morning looking for signs of life for today’s challenge topic “new”. I wasn’t really expecting to find anything very much but in fact it’s positively bursting out there!!

There are new leaves appearing on many of the shrubs, some delicate pink flowers on the Winter Viburnum and even a pretty little primrose that I think has got its timing out of sync.

These are the shoots of the hellebore (Christmas Rose). You can almost see their effort in pushing the dark damp soil out of the way. They’ll be up and flowering in just a few weeks time and Spring will be on the way.
