Dune dog

Stella looks completely in her element, running around in the long grass between Whitesands and Barns Ness lighthouse: strong shoulders, big paws, rough coat all working in her favour.

The boys looked equally in their element playing their Simpsons game on the PS3. So it was just me and her for a walk this morning.

Me: "I'm thinking of taking Stella for a walk."
Boys: *general mutterings of this sounding like a good thing*
Me: "I'm leaving in about 10 minutes."
Matt: "Aw sorry, dad. I don't think I'll even be dressed by then."

I liked the way he said it like it was some law of nature he could do nothing about.
