After the storm, the silver lining...
It's 4.10pm and the storms around here were at their height about 2.45pm with gusts of probably 60-65mph SSW. Living near the top of a 500 feet hill and the highest point around here we always get a good whack from any direction. There's still an occasional gust, probably upper 40's but the roaring and whip cracking crescendos seem to have gone away.
The forecasted deluges have failed to materialise but for four days now the Met Office wind speed and direction expectations have been fairly accurate and consistent. Well done Met Office.
The sunset provided a gold and pink tinted sky with a silver halo around the still threatening cloud formations. No shooting stars yet but last night we spotted a couple in the western skies.
