Cor, what a day
We decided not to travel south today in view of the stormy weather forecast for Scotland and Northern England today and I think it turned out to be the right decision. Howling gales all night then heavy, blustery showers all day accompanied by severe gusting winds driving the rain.
Nevertheless, we ventured out on a 5 1/2 mile walk which finished up on the Water of Leith Walk which was where my very first blip was taken on 1st January 2013, so I have nearly come full circle. This shot does not do the weather justice, although you can see the mud on the trail and the water in the river.
The forecast for tomorrow is much better, calmer and dry, so we'll try and make an early start so as to get back reasonably early as I'm on duty at Wittersham Road Signal Box on Sunday.
Spent the rest of the day since getting back doing nothing in particular, looking at YouTube videos and snoozing. Can't be bad.
Hope wherever you are, the weather is treating you OK. It seemed like at home, in Maidstone, they've been having tremendous floods. And there is more rain coming on Monday. I hope we have a calmer evening on 31st December/1st January as we're going up to London for the New Year celebrations, staying what remains of the night up in the city too.
