Scrambled eggs for Lapper's birthday

StorksRock cooking the scrambled eggs for her Dad's birthday. Notice she is not using the nice modern electric hob but instead the Calor gas stove, the bottle of gas for which was bought when she was a baby (about 21 years ago she tells me).

The mains power has been off and on all day. The lappers have a generator which is great but you have to go outside into the howling wind and rain to the garage, start it up by hand and swap the power over, and it will only run the lower power stuff, so no shower, oven or hob. Then when the mains power comes back you have to go out and shut it down and swap the power back. Starting and stopping the generator not an ideal way for lapper to spend his birthday (he tells me not to ask how old he is but I suspect he is in his in his fifties if SR is 21). Mains power was restored for the excellent evening meal so we are all happy about that, just waiting for the storm die down so we can travel back south tomorrow.
