Yet more bad luck
We'll today was pretty uneventful up till 3pm when it took quite a turn for the worst.
P was having a nap and as Mr J was working from home downstairs I thought I would treat myself to a little nap too. I woke up at 3 and was just leaving the bedroom when I heard a sound behind me. Puss was coming out from under the bed. I instantly knew something wasn't right. By the way she was walking I thought she had hurt her leg. She was limping slightly, was very low crouched to the ground and generally very wobbly. As she drew closer I bent down to her and at that moment she collapsed, face first onto the carpet. Her front legs had just given way completely.
I shouted for Mr J to come quick and scooped her up in my arms. She was all floppy and unresponsive. Once we got her downstairs we put her on the ground. She made a feeble attempt at getting up but that was it. She didn't appear to be in any pain. We rang the vets......
4 hours and £300 later and we are back home, minus puss. They believe she has had a stroke and are trying to determine what has caused it. The first set of blood results came back all showing perfectly fine. They are keeping her overnight at the Animal Hospital where she is on a drip and being kept warm and comfortable. Further tests will be carried out.
The vet said the prognosis is not looking good. She has lost most of the use of her right hand side and being old and quite thin as she is, she is already weak. Mr J and I said our goodbyes as we left her....
Let's see what tomorrow brings
