Blip-Meet at Te Papa
Three days of grey skies and rain here in Wellington at this time of year is unprecedented in my view. We had hoped for a rapidly organized Blip-Meet at the Waterfront yesterday. It was not to be. So it was back to the drawing board and phone texting to arrange a meeting for today. Thus at 10.am we met in the foyer of Te Papa, our national museum, for a first ever Wellington-based Blip-Meet. (As far as we know)… We were sorry to miss out on the company of at least two other local Blippers that we knew of. “HelenS” and “Fritz”. It may be a good idea for Wellington Blippers to identify themselves for future meets. Some of us hide our lights under a bushel when it comes to identifying ourselves and where we live. But Blip-Meets are fun.
So today we five regular Blippers were joined by two prospective Blippers. Prospective in that both SD and AJ have already downloaded the Blipfoto app onto their smart phones and are ready for action. We others are working on them. New Year’s Day is a good time to start we told them!
Te Papa is a wonderful place for photography. It is a veritable treasure trove in many more ways than one. After our meeting we focussed on some photography and there were blips at every turn. Except for Anemone we did not move from Floor Four. Where did you disappear to Anemone? We missed you…..
AJ, prospective Blipper, used my little point and shoot Panasonic to capture this image of us. In the back row is SD (A Prospect), Quigs and Anemone. In the front row are Lizimagiz, Rainie and 09panda67. It was just magical meeting you folk in person. Hopefully we will get together again as a group in May when Rainie and I venture to Wellington. Perhaps a Blip-Meet at the Zoo? That should be fun…..
