Change of plan

We set out for Goolwa, but left home a bit late.

Change of plan and took a detour to Mt. Bold Reservoir. Back on track for Goolwa, but worried about timing.

Change of plan: go to Strathalbyn instead.

Change of plan - take a side road to Mt. Compass and go by the Blueberry farm.

Change of Plan - there's the road to Willunga, let's go there and get afternoon tea.

Drive past a Cellar door which said "Coffee" "Wine" "Art Gallery".

Change of Plan - did a quick "U-ey" and went there.

Best decision of the day: a real find. Quite remote and the bird life was simply amazing. I saw maybe 5 species of birds at this bird bath in the space of 15 minutes.

A new one for BlipBigYear - just in time (what are we going to do next year when it's all over. I mean - what arewe going to do???)

There are two birds in this image - the main (new) bird is a White-naped honeyeater; the other is a crescent honeyeater, already blipped by Rower much earlier in the year.

not too shabby

Here's the gen:

The White-naped Honeyeater is a small honeyeater with a short, slender bill. It is olive-green above, with a black cap, a white band across the back of the neck which does not reach the eye, and a bright orange crescent above the eye. The flanks and sides of the breast are washed grey brown and the underparts are white. Young birds lack the black cap and the white nape is duller or absent. It can be seen in large flocks when migrating, often with other honeyeaters, and in smaller groups when feeding.
