Butternut Squash

It's October in New England, which means the garden is finally dying. But first we got the final harvest: butternut squash and acorn squash (to be a future blip, I'm sure).

Despite the tomato blight that went around, it was a good summer for the garden. Ninety percent of our intake of vegtables was hand-grown by Amanda for our summer veggie consumption. Usually, we get to make tomato sauce to store all winter. (We did get to do this, but we had to purchase 20 pounds of tomatos over at Russo's in H20-town.)

I'm sure these butternut squashes will find their way into delicious soups over the next couple of months.
