Triumphant Fork

Sometimes there is something which needs to be blipped because of its significance for the journal but is photographically challenging.

I spent much of today with my garden fork.

Following the advice of Monty Don, I took the opportunity of a break between storms to start turning over the compost heaps. I did think this was Monty having a joke or being overly macho so I checked it out. And, it turns out, this is the very activity recommended by a number of expert gardeners to fill in that curious period between Xmas and New Year.

It felt good. Monty is a wise man.
