lantern festival

there was a festival in my town today.

i've heard two names for this festival, choumin festival and chouchin festival. Choumin fest. is "town's people festival". and Chouchin fest is "lantern festival". i do not know which this is. it could be both.

but there is dance ceremony of the gods. food booth. free oden. and lantern battle, which is in the picture.

the lanterns are lit and the lantern holders try to knock the (candle) light out of the other lanterns. the participants are mostly kids.
