Good drawing

One of the presents I received from the middleman family on Christmas Day was Letters of Note, a collection of remarkable, moving, funny and profound correspondence previously published on this wonderful website and now available as a beautiful book. Today, as I watched The Jungle Book in screen one at Filmhouse (a marvellous sold out sing-along screening!) I was reminded of this letter from animator John Kricfalusi, responding to a fan and aspiring cartoonist who had sent him some drawings. For my money, there's more life and character in simple, hand-drawn Baloo the bear than in any computer-generated animation.
