Cheesden Mill

This is not really representative of the day at all, as the main event was bargain hunting at the sales at the Trafford Centre. I was specifically after some shoes I had seen but not bought as they were too expensive, however at half price they will do just fine! A couple of other items were bought, plus contemplating a new tv although why we might need one when the old one works perfectly well I don't know.

Anyway we escaped after lunch and there was just enough time to have a wander as there was some lovely sunshine about. Up on the moors there was quite alot of cloud too, some rain and at one point hail. Cheesden Mill was one of the 18th century mills dotted around the moors and valleys that closed when the big town mills opened with steam powered machinery. Their ruins always add interest to a walk.
