Sounds and sweet airs

Cat had a busy week over Christmas - and now it is time to relax.

A wind up gramophone (remember these, anyone?) is most diverting. Even if you need to change the needle every side or two and each side of a record (remember those?) is over in a minute or two.

One of the best bits is the way the song slows and deepens as the winding stops working and then speeds up when it's all hands to the handle.

Among the voices we listened to were those of Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields and some very very talented dogs who could bark Jingle Bells.
