Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Almost Home

Late afternoon -- the shadows are long and the neighborhood is calm.

I was returning from a last minute afternoon, almost evening, errand. The side of the "Fun" house is seen in the distance behind the orange trimmed house. I love coming home -- it certainly would land in my Top 10 List of good feelings, maybe in the the top 5.

Driving toward home I held the camera outside my window and clicked and clicked. I really do love where we live. In a few more weeks the Liquid Amber trees in our front yard will look like they belong on the East Coast. So I'll show them again so you don't miss their loveliness.

It's been a lovely mild temp day here in Southern California and we were so sorry to hear the "Breaking News" from the TV folks. A fire started about 2:00 p.m. -- 1000 acres have burned in Lytle Creek -- a very rugged, steep area that hasn't burned for years. If the flames are not distinguished, many homes are in its path and the destruction will be immense.

It's 8:08 on Saturday Night. We're signing off and wishing everyone a lovely day tomorrow wherever you are.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
