Making a splash

Another exceptionally pleasant wander down the Water of Leith, this time to the (apparently uberhip) Vintage and back, for lunch with a friend. We tried to kid the ducks we had something for them to eat so that I could get some pictures of the handsome goosander close up. They weren't playing ball. On the contrary, Mr Goosander clearly had urgent business elsewhere on the river.

Elsewhere it's becoming apparent that the upturned piano of yesterday's blip is just part of the preparations for something special. Quite what isn't entirely clear, but I was lucky to get this picture, because all the windows in the unit are gradually being covered up with hangings or curtains of some sort.

Anyway, because today turned into a surprisingly good picture day, I created a set on flickr for the best of the pictures.
