Another sunny day
What a difference a day makes. After yesterday's snow we awoke to brilliant blue skies and sunshine - but it was cold. We left Luke at the apartment to study and went off to ski - but because of the beautiful weather it was so busy with long queues to get up the mountain, so we drove to one of the other less popular mountains in the area (there are 5 mountains in this area) which was much quieter and there were thankfully no queues, with great skiing. The week between Christmas and New Year is the busiest time here for skiing, so queues are to be expected.
Such wonderful cloudless skies but so cold....-9C in the car park and -11C at the top of the mountain. It was the kind of day where you had to come in for a coffee break after 2 runs.
We got back to the apartment just after lunch and I took this photo of the valley which looked lovely in the sunshine. I thought an old sepia treatment suited the scene.
Tomorrow is New Years eve, or Silvester as it is known here. The village usually puts on a magnificent display of fireworks in the park which I am looking forward to.
