Changing Face of the High Street - 5
The first four blips in this series - Frank Thomson's, Java Lava, Valentines and Delivino - have been relatively traditional shops selling relatively traditional things.
Today's blip is a bit different as although the hotel has always been a hotel, the ethnic Thai version of it is rather more recent. They've not changed the architecture in any way but the red and white paintwork certainly gives it a different impact. Mind you, I can't make up my mind whether it looks oriental or red-and-white Scandi chic (which probably wasn't the intention!)
People often tell you that such and such a town isn't a patch on what it used to be in some golden age long gone. I'm sure that's true. I doubt very much if Thai food was available in towns the size of Crieff back in the day. Equally, I doubt if folk would really want to revert to High Streets without such variety :-). So this blip is indeed about the changing face of the High Street!
You'll note however the 'For Sale' sign above the door. This is also rapidly becoming a frequent feature of the urban landscape. Not so welcome :-(
