Wet Boots and a Proddy Mat

After we revamped our kitchen a few years ago our old friend (the one that had the stroke) told us that one day we could have his proddy mat for by the stove.
When he came out of hospital the carers checked his house and told him his mat was a trip hazard so he said it was time for me to take it.
He is right it does look good in its new home.
The weather has been so wet the boots have a new home too - permanently drying on the hearth.
