Away in a manger

We were determined to avoid spending the day preparing and somehow (with some rather late nights) we managed to wake up feeling pretty organised. Chris had heard about a family friendly showing of The Snowman at The Filmhouse so we got last minute tickets and raced through the icy wind to treat the girls to their first cinema experience. A was hysterical with excitement -bouncing, clapping, banging her arms and waving. E was very still with amazement which is rare. The only downside was the toilets were quite far away downstairs and we had to persevere a queue and several out of order loos to maintain toilet training success. Phew.

Later, we headed to the amazing cathedral for a super sweet family service, carols, a manger and a fondant fancy.

Then home for tea, bath, Christmas pjs, hanging stockings with care, shouting up the chimney, leaving a mince pie, whisky and carrot and off to bed to listen for sleigh bells...
