It all started with a Big Bang
Today, Edinburgh's Hogmanay started with the torchlight procession. This is an event we always did as a family, but the last few years, we have just been to Calton Hill. This year, it was only 'open' to the public once the procession arrived. So, we went up the end of Salisbury Crags, near Holyrood, to see the proceedings. It was really good, albeit Baltic. The rain had stopped about 4, the sky cleared and there was not too much wind. I took a few shots of the city, but decided this one, of the fireworks, summed the evening up. We walked down with a couple from the States, as we had a good torch. Turned out, that of the 6 of us, 3 had a birthday on 1st January. I think that fairly unusual, even allowing for the fact that our kids are twins.
