Alex left to go back to Newcastle this morning, Bob driving seven hours to take her home and get back.

Then, on his return, across to Trish and Carl's, not to see in the new year, but just to get together with friends. I love the time I spend with them, consistently diverted, in the very best sense!

It's been so fabulous to have all three young ones here, missing Alex already.
