After the flood

After the floods of yesterday, it was amazing to see the river pretty much back to its normal state today.

Although there are still a lot of flooded fields, and signs of river debris wrapped around the branches of trees, the river itself at this point was pretty much flat calm.

And although I woke (with not a little dread) to the sound, once more, of rain, by lunchtime the clouds had cleared and the sun came out. It provided the chance to walk in the last two hours of sunshine of 2013, before it dipped back down again behind the hill.
