Goodbye Card

Today was my goodbye party at work. I was the main star. My co-workers came to see me and wish me well. It was a potluck party and everyone brought something. It was really great. I always say this, but I could never ask for such a better group of people to work with. I will never forget the friends and co-workers I made throughout my employment at Vanguard. What makes Vanguard stand out is its community. The people at this institution are like no other. As my old boss said, what we have at Vanguard especially in our department, Grad Ed, is irreproducible. I'm so happy to have worked here. I have learned so much throughout the last four years. I have gained experience that I would not have learned else where because I was given the opportunity and freedom to work without a boss constantly looking over my shoulder. There was trust and I delivered. I can only hope to find another work environment such as Vanguard.

At the end of the, my friends from the Registrar's Office and the staff and faculty of Grad Ed encircled me and reached out their arms praying. Jerry said words of prayer and it was wonderful. I felt special. I felt loved. I felt a part of that community.
