View to Inverness from the Drumsmittal area of the Black Isle.
A fairly dull and grey day, save for a brief area of pink in the sky at dusk. Very calm, which was a pleasant relief. There's still mist hanging around the outskirts of Inverness in the above scene, even though it was after midday.
First time I've cycled in and back in daylight for months. Long overdue haircut was the main reason for the trip. Pool doesn't open until the end of the week, alas.
Good deeds for the day have been a bit lacking lately:
Clear out the culvert that caused a flood in the village a couple of years back. All the recent rain etc. had washed various debris downstream, that was collecting over the grille were the source was before - much easier without six feet of water to contend with. Litter cleared too, it was adding to the debris. Some would've written to the Council, but that would have taken longer than fifteen minutes it required. No doubt saved a bit too.
Walked back over the (Kessock) bridge with a former Head of Science Dept. Had a good blether, and cleared numerous bits of glass as we went. Too late for the bit that'd punctured his front tyre. Fortunately he was only a mile from home.
Clear a couple of the blocked verges drains. Streams flowing down the road aren't that great an idea. Especially for cyclists in Winter...
