A better time at nursery.... xx
Well, Eva slept all through last night. It's really odd how some nights she'll wake once or twice, then other nights she'll sleep straight through. There's not really a pattern to it. I'm not complaining, just saying. Even when she does wake up, she'll have a little milk, some snuggles, maybe a nappy change to freshen her up and she's straight back asleep again.
After breakfast, Mike played downstairs with Eva and her toys while I went and got showered and did my hair ready for the night, as I was going out for Kerry's birthday at 7pm, so thought I'd get my hair out of the way early doors (I hate doing my hair).
I was already getting butterflies as Eva was off for a 2 hour settling in session at nursery from 2 til 4 pm and the last few sessions hadn't gone that great. However, the first hour long one she'd had, she hadn't had her daytime sleep, the 2nd 2 hour one she came home with a raging temperature of 39.3, so today I was trying to tick all the boxes.... Her cheeks were a little pink so I gave her calpol, she had a good sleep before she went, and I took her with Iggle Piggle, her blanket, her num nums, a bottle, and snuggle bunny. She actually didn't get off to sleep til 12.40, so I rang the nursery and changed the time to 3 til 5 so I didn't have to wake her.
Mike and I got her there for 3, said a quick "bye bye" and walked away, my stomach was churning so much. I literally counted down the minutes then til 5 pm when we could go and get her. As we walked down the corridor to the baby room, I listened out for her crying, couldn't hear any. We opened the door to the baby room and had to actually scan the room to see where she was as she wasn't crying. Well, she didn't look ecstatic when I did see her, and as soon as she clocked me and Mike the tears came in floods. She held her arms out for me to pick her up and literally clung to me as I chatted with Debbie, the lovely lady who is going to be Eva's key worker. She'd even downed half a bottle whilst she'd been there, so I knew she must have been ok to have done that. Debbie said she did push Iggle Piggle and co away as she tried to give them to her, and I knew she'd only do that if she was too upset, but the fact she'd drank half her bottle said a lot to me.
I also saw an improvement when we got home. She settled straight back into happily playing with her toys, whereas in the past she had just clung to me, snuggled on my lap.
I went out at 7 and left babba girl having her bath. Mike said she downed her bottle before bed and literally fell asleep as soon as he lay her down. I got home around Midnight and she hadn't stirred even once xxxxx
