The sun sets on 2013

This picture was so unexpected! After flying in from the US this afternoon, I was driving home from the airport in heavy rain and picked up my dog from the dog-sitter. When we got home it started to clear just enough to entertain the idea of a walk before the sun went down. A few minutes later the sky started to fill with colour so we raced over to a favourite area nearby where we love to walk and sometimes watch the sun set. Today was extra special since it was the last day of 2013. There's something special about watching the very last sunset of the year! Tomorrow the sun will rise to new beginnings! I wonder if I will be awake to watch it?
