I can't believe it! Emergency blip territory and it's only the first day of the New Year. You'd think I could do better than this.

I got a drone hover fly, but so so boring. Then I got a praying mantis, but apart from the fact it would have demonstrated brilliantly the camouflage of these wonderful creatures, there was nothing new about it - just a mess of green really.

And to rub salt into the would, my other very good friend DesertP got the most beautiful shot of a Red-winged fairy wren yesterday, and I'm am so jealous I can hardly bear it (only kidding DP)

And the weather - as different from yesterday as it could possibly have been. Grey lowering skies all day, and now it's raining. Typical migraine day for me, so I slept for a couple of hours this afternoon, and now feel a little better.

Aaanyway (as my good friend Hobbs would say). The good news is that UKTV on Foxtel is showing Strictly Come Dancing, starting tonight, so we get to see what all the viewers in the UK have been whittering on about for weeks and weeks. Yes, I know the season has finished, but it will still be fun.

And at least this succulent flower is colourful. Hairy bits.
