Happy New Year

This is the sun going down on the first day of 2014. I managed to capture this from Mount Victoria in Devonport, Auckland, on my way home from an evening playing monopoly with the Mac's south of the city.

I was woken this morning with a surprised and delighted 'oooooo' from J, my friends toddler, who had never seen a person lying on the floor of her house in a big green bag before. Everything is a wonder.

We had a lazy day. The sun was superbly hot when the big white fluffy clouds parted. We moved as far as the deck. A successful scouting mission was launched for ice-cream from the local shop. All in all, a good start to the year.
