Nikon Internal Flash

My flash has stopped working. I want it to work...

Here is the situation: When the flash is popped, it will not flash OR take a picture. It will focus, but will not take the picture. The camera is useless when the flash is open. Doesn't matter if it is in Auto, M,A,S,P or anything... it just doesn't work. Seriously, internal flashes are easy to use.

Anyone know of a way to reset the camera back to it's default settings? Anyone know what is going on? Anyone been in a similar situation?

I really don't want to send it in to Nikon because I have some new toys coming in tomorrow! I really hope this isn't affecting the hot shoe.
