Cheeky Chappy!

The first day of 2014 and we've woken up to gale force winds and heavy rain!

Whilst sat having breakfast Lorraine noticed this cheeky chappy run across our garden and up the tree to the bird house. I went out into the garden to take some photos, and it was really funny watching him squeeze his head into the bird house, take the sunflower seeds and then run and sit in the tree while he ate them. I managed to get quite close, but once he noticed me he ran off into the next tree, although he was soon back for more.

Richard and I took Louis for a walk by the sea and it was certainly bracing, but we didn't get very far as the waves were crashing over onto the under cliff walk and it was flooded. But it was amazing watching the waves from a safe distance and Louis was kept on his lead as I didn't want to risk him getting swept away!

I've now got a roast dinner cooking in the oven which we're going to have before our visitors leave, and whilst I'm writing this the garden has come alive with wildlife - there are so many different birds feeding of the various feeder, it's lovely to watch.

I wonder what's in store for us all in 2014, but whatever it is I hope it'll be a healthy and happy one!
