Wide Reach
Ventured out for a New Year's Day morning walk. It was quite grey and dull but wonderful to be out in the fresh air. We took a walk down to Bonnington Farm and the Haystoun Estate and along the first part of Glen Sax. The stream was gushing with water and the hills covered in a low cloud. An estate worker was out with a chain saw cutting up a large bough which had been ripped off of an old beech tree in the early December gale. This picture shows part of a very long bough on another beech tree and is luckily still intact. We returned just as the rain started to fall and ready for a hot bowl of soup and the remainder of last night's lemon sponge pudding!
