Wet New Year

On New Year's Day we would normally go for a walk to enjoy a little fresh air, get some exercise and start to wear off the excesses of the last week. However, today it was wet and gloomy and I barely ventured outdoors at all. It feels more like a day for sitting inside in the warmth with a cup of tea and another mince pie and slice of Christmas cake!

My wife asked me what my New Year resolutions were. I don't make any - and if I did I wouldn't tell anyone because that would be setting myself up to fail. But I really should lay off the mince pies and Christmas cake.
