We warned our manager that New Years Day is always quiet. Unfortunately we were right (again!) and the weather made things worse.

We were meant to be open until five but we got permission to close earlier and we were out by half four - result!

Nick has laryngitis so it's lucky for him that we weren't there until six as planned. Having to work has made it more painful for him but we have tomorrow so I'll have to try not to talk to him too much.

I miss his voice.
