Lichen

Today, It rained hard and steadily from the early hours until about four o'clock this afternoon. I didn't go our for any photographs, but about a week ago, I found this twig with attached lichen - blown off the tree just outside our back door during one of the gales.

I set it up about six inches from the window and used a gold reflector to fill in some of the shadows. Some of the highlights in the background are the raindrops on the glass.

We set off to the cinema during the afternoon, to watch the second installment of the The Hobbit. It was a bit disappointing after the way 'Lord of the Rings' stayed pretty much faithful to the book. This film bore only a passing resemblence to the original, with some parts and events which were not there in the original at all!

Mrs Mikey said we were to remind her that when part three came out, that she didn't want to watch it. Picked up one of our rare McDonalds on the way home - first one we've had for years. Junk food, but still pretty tasty junk food. Not something to eat regularly, however.
