iPlate

Even though I work for BT and get my broadband free from them (one of the few staff perks!), our house seems to be in one of the blackspots of Livi. Our exchange supports up to 8 meg but most of the time we can only get a paltry 1 meg! Really makes me give a cynical laugh when I see all the press about how 20 meg is now being rolled out across the UK - if only!

In theory I can get free BT Vision from them too apart from the fact you need a minimum of 2 meg to be able to receive it! (Hence the reason we're still with Sky)!

Anyway, today we took delivery of this little piece of plastic - an iPlate. This is supposed to boost broadband speeds in most cases, but can take about 3 days to take effect. Hubbie fitted it earlier so fingers crossed that by the end of the week we might actually break through the 2 meg barrier at long last!
