New Beginnings

Well...erm...yes....I know it's been a while, but it seemed churlish not to start blipping again on the day of the year when the world around me is busy making their resolutions - so hello once more!

We're spending the New Year festivities with our wonderful friends Chris and Jilly (of whom I have blipped before here - ooops perhaps not - it seems I have forgotten how to link to a previous blip!) They live in Sleepy Suffolk, and visiting them is like going to a spa - the perfect opportunity to unwind, loosen up, slow down, de-stress, rest and generally put one's feet up! The company is excellent and the conversation entertaining - and if it wasn't for having to go back to work at some point I might find myself moving in!

Chris amuses us with his hilarious ukulele versions of Flanders and Swan numbers, keeps us sustained with the most delicious home cooked food and provides a well chosen wines to go with them! Jilly ensures that we *know* how to relax and - as long as we don't talk during Sherlock -we are at liberty to do whatever we like! And we do! Graham spent much of yesterday in bed (who can blame him after the medical dramas of Monday) and I didn't get dressed!

So far we've sung, played music, read, chatted, built words from play dough and "passed the bomb"! If this is the start of 2014 - well it can't get much better!

Apologies to those who, over the previous months have missed my online dairies, especially to the ones who only know my presence here - I've not died, been ill nor spontaneously combusted! Life, work and dark nights generally conspired to ensure the priority for blipping so low that it just didn't happen. But I'm resolute to keeping this going come hell or high water until the end of 2014! Let's hope it lasts longer than the proverbial diet or smoking cessation programme!
