Getting my arse off the sofa!

A while ago I found a booklet of walks around our area that I've probably had for the 5 years that we've lived here but never used. So today was the day I decided it was time to delve in. I chose one that I didn't need to drive to the start point of, but joined it half way through as that was the part that runs closest to my house.

Had I begun at the beginning, I might have noticed that it wasn't the walk I thought I was doing that was 2-3 hrs long, but one that was 3-4 hrs long and it took me all the 4 hours!

There are also some very steep ups and downs and a stream that wasn't there when the guide was written. To be fair, it probably wasn't there until a month ago and once the rains finally stop, it will probably disappear again. We have major weather warnings again, not just tonight but tomorrow and into the weekend ( to quote the news reader I'm listening to as I type ) - not that I'm thinking to repeat the walk just yet! But I will.
