Sloes

I've decided to give Blipfoto another try.

These are sloes, fruit of the blackthorn shrub which grows in many hedgerows in the countryside. It's too late for these ones, but in autumn and early winter you can pick them and make sloe gin...

Or you can leave them for the birds. They're very popular with redwings and fieldfares - thrushes which migrate here from Scandinavia.
