Colorado Heights University
I drive past this building on my way to work and on my way home. I have posted it before in a past blip but didn't like the angle of it. I've been wanting to take it from the north east for some time and decided that since it was a gorgeous day on my way home I'd get it from the desired angle.
It's considered private property so both shots were taken across the street from it because "the law" here in the states don't like you taken pictures of public buildings and have known people who have been arrested...craziness if you ask me.
It was once known as Loretto Heights College. Its campus consists of 19 buildings on a 74-acre site, the highest area in Denver. The Administration Building, the centerpiece of the campus (featured here) opened in 1891 and is entered in the National Register of Historic Places listings in Denver, Colorado. Its prominent bell tower can be seen from miles around, serving as a landmark for many Denver residents.
I know that when I see it I'm either closer to beginning my work day or ending it.
It looks great in any season because of it classic architecture but dead middle of fall is my favorite. Hope to get a shot in when all the trees have turned and it looks like something out of a Boston travel magazine.
