Happiness
Is engagement ring shaped.
Cousin Sarah has phoned. It's very exciting news. She has got engaged.
It's a whirlwind romance. Less than three months to be exact. But if you don't know your own mind at our age when do you.
I am so so so happy for her. Husband never realised she had never been engaged or married. So now understands our total girly excitement and this fabulous news.
I can't wait to meet him.
I have had to cancel going to mother in laws for dinner tonight. This will only have been the second time in 14 years we have been asked which means the likelihood of me being asked again I will quite possibly be 56 years of age!!!
Husband still goes. It will be good for him to have time alone with his family as I don't think in my memory this has happened in our time before.
I awoke in the night with the tell tale sign of the roof of my mouth starting to swell. I know I'm going to have one of my funny turns when my mouth swells up. Previously the dr called it cellulitis.
I managed to get in the drs for 8.30am. I minor miracle.
7 days of antibiotics and anti histamines.
Great. That's the rest of the holidays ruined. Well done me.
The dr thinks its a stage 3 allergy to something I ate on Christmas Day. Possibly. I ate so much I never would allow myself.
My own personal view is I got very very run down over the last 3 months and I had the life scared out of my 4 days ago and I still feel trembly.
I think the scare I had the other day with the client from next door hammering on our front and back doors has set an attack off. I'm old enough to have realised he really wasn't going to drive all over our lawn, torch my car or thump my husband. But I genuinely believed him at the time and I'm still shaky from the experience now. Why can't I be more like husband who simply popped back from work for five mins and told him to clear off. I really should learn to stand up to bullies I was convinced the door was going to come off its hinges. I think if I had actually opened the door at the time and realised he was in fact approx 6ft 5 and min 20 stone I would have fainted.
Husband was exceptionally brave. it's husbands fault I got in such a terrifying situ anyway. He told me to park where I had to unload the huge Christmas food shop I had just done in the torrential rain. After all it is our enclosed private drive and garden. The person from next door who let him in should have made him move to their space at the time they were out there permitting access. The client had parked in our drive and I had nowhere else to go. In fact he had parked so poorly he had taken up two spaces.
He looked very happy sat in his meeting in the boardroom with the fa next door so I thought I would have time to unload and move car when he was ready to depart.
Very glad I had taken my hearing aids out due to the torrential rain. It would have been even more terrifying hearing his verbal abuse even louder.
Well I'd better brace myself for a fortnight of ill health. Great. Oh well may as well finish 2013 off the way it started. Tucked up in bed with a party pack of prescription drugs.
2014 is going to be VERY different.
