Sunset over the Trent
Today we left the Erewash to continue our trip down the River Trent. At first we had to take the Cranfield Cut to avoid an un-navigable part of the Trent.
If we had thought the part of the Trent we had cruised before Trent Lock was big this was HUGE. The whole navigation was on a different scale. The locks were automated and operated during working hours by professional lock keepers.
The locks were so large that half a dozen boats the size of Solace could have fitted in. I chose this shot as I felt it gave a good impression of the scale of the Trent.
Back blipped into the period when I was a guest my blipping started 17.12.13
