Yule Log?
Today as I walked I was conscious of more dog walkers their chatter and heavy feet shattering my attempt at solitude. I spoke with my friend describing our river as I ambled beside her, her chocolate colour an indication of the sheer volume of rain we have experienced coupled with the very high tides.
I veered away from our river into the woods in search of that solace and here, undertake the shelter of the canopy of the trees I was in another world albeit only a hundred yards or so from the banks of our river. Here no sign of the rains to come the low cloud that shrouded the river excluded from the wood by the trees sheltered too from the ever increasing winds.
Logs from last tears storm scatter this copse, like a graveyard to the fallen trees; many now host fungi the colours bright against the dead wood.
I hope you enjoy the shot such as it is and hope, wherever you are, you are safe from the coming storms.
