Falco sparverius
#2 - BlipBigYear 2014
The male American Kestrel. He is distinguished from the lady kestrel by his blue head and wing edges. This shot comes after many attempts throughout the last month to decently photograph this species, common throughout the farmlands of our region. It's our smallest falcon and ranges throughout both American continents.
