Awaiting Hercules
It has been snowing nearly all day, though extremely lightly. But it has picked up somewhat; I took this shot just after 8 pm (I've uploaded it to replace a more prosaic earlier one). It shows the parking lot of the condominium next door, with a plow in action. Don't miss the icicle on the lamp--best seen in large. (Here's another nocturnal view, without snow.)
There's definitely a bigger storm on the way, dubbed Hercules (possibly by the national weather service, but I think more likely by the Weather Channel on television). In the last few months whoever they are have been giving names to relatively minor storms, which I find disconcerting. Previously only hurricanes (or close equivalents have been named).
We'll certainly get a good deal more snow tonight, but forecasts have varied widely. Stay tuned for tomorrow's blip, certainly with snow as well.
