Christmas lighting.

I happened to be in Newcastle, the second largest city in New South Wales, and discovered this rather unusual way of street lighting for the festive season.
The local council needed to conserve funds by simply fitting coloured cellophane around the street lamps in the mall area.
I must say it was quite effective and a talking point with the passing shoppers.
