Shine a light

Our village has more lights than ever this year. All of them are clear rather then coloured and everyone has pulled together to brighten it up over the holidays. Sad to think we will be in darkness again in a few days' time. This photo was taken just after 4pm. The good thing is that the darkest days are over and we are on the way to spring now...
Tonight Hubby and I went into Newcastle to see The Hobbit at last. We are huge Tolkien fans (we have a daughter called Arwen, after all!) and I really enjoyed the movie. It's just...it's not Lord of the Rings. Daft thing to say? I just can't care for this set of characters as much. It was good to see the elves' return though.
