Day 2

Overnight sail to Marseilles. Guess what, the weather is overcast and a slight drizzle, however, it did not deter us from leaving the ship to explore Marseilles. Sunday in France is not the place to be, it is CLOSED. 3 cruise ships have docked, so potentially 5000 people have disembarked for the day, and what is open, 1 café and the Cathedral.

The Cathedral is quite spectacular, but no literature on it to say who built it and when, so non the wiser. Lit a couple of candles and had a few quiet moments of reflection of this awful year and prayed that 2014 would be a better one for the family.

We had asked for a table for 2 in the restaurant, it did not happen, we had 2 dinner companions, he is ok, she is dire, never stops complaining about the food, our drinks are not served quick enough etc, etc.
