Plant architecture

Here's an umbellifer (probably Wild Angelica) seed head without the seeds - they've all fallen off or been taken by birds. It reminds us what efficient structures plants have evolved. If you need to erect a whole array of feeding platforms for flying insects that need to be in the sun and support them from a single tall stem, this is the prize-winning design. It's great that it's beautiful as well.
